AS Roma hires Tony D'Amico as sporting director, targets Greenwood and Pulisic

AS Roma has confirmed Tony D'Amico as the club’s new sporting director, effective 1 July. D'Amico will work alongside head coach Gian Piero Gasperini, who has identified strengthening the attack as the priority. The club’s preferred target is Manchester United striker Mason Greenwood, with talks involving a possible loan‑with‑obligation‑to‑buy arrangement after Marseille’s valuation of more than €50 million. An alternative mentioned by local media is American forward Christian Pulisic, who could leave Milan on a permanent deal.

In parallel, the sporting director is handling contract extensions for key squad members. Negotiations are under way with veteran forward Paulo Dybala for a two‑year, reduced‑salary deal, and with midfielder Lorenzo Pellegrini, who is expected to stay at the club.
