Asahi City to test conversational voice AI agent ‘DEN. Ai’

DcodingX, an enterprise AI company, has partnered with NEC Nexsolutions to launch a demonstration experiment in Asahi City, Chiba Prefecture. Starting September 17, the city will test ‘DEN. Ai’, a conversational voice AI agent designed to handle citizen inquiries via telephone.

Unlike traditional interactive voice response (IVR) systems that require users to select menu numbers, ‘DEN. Ai’ utilizes generative AI to engage in natural spoken dialogue. The system aims to understand inquiries, provide answers based on FAQs, and transfer calls to the appropriate departments. The experiment seeks to evaluate the technology's ability to improve citizen convenience while reducing the administrative workload of city officials.
