Grand Sumo Autumn Basho: Asanoyama and Kagizoe secure key victories

During the eighth day of the Grand Sumo Autumn Basho at the Ryogoku Kokugikan, several notable performances took place.

Former Ozeki Asanoyama secured his sixth victory with a powerful yorikiri against Shishi, bringing his record to 6-2. Following his win, Asanoyama expressed his desire to face higher-ranking wrestlers if he continues his winning streak.

In the lower divisions, 18-year-old Kagizoe extended his winning streak to 11 matches after defeating Ayano-fuji with a sukui-nage. Kagizoe, the son of Kaminari Oyakata, noted the intensity of the match despite his successful performance.

Additionally, Kagayaki reached an eight-match winning streak after defeating Tokifudo via oshidashi.
