Asante Kotoko coach and Medeama player reconcile after match altercation
Asante Kotoko assistant coach Diogo Peral and Medeama SC player Ebenezer Adade have reconciled following a physical altercation during a Ghana Premier League match at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium. The incident occurred during a 1-1 draw on November 1, 2026, when Adade reportedly lost his footing and bumped into Peral near the technical area.
According to Medeama SC Communications Director Benjamin Willie Graham, the two men met at the Kotoko bench after the final whistle to clear the air. Adade apologized for the accidental collision, while Peral expressed regret for his physical reaction.
Despite the reconciliation, Peral faces disciplinary consequences. Asante Kotoko has issued an internal fine, stating his behavior did not align with the club's values of respect and professionalism. Additionally, the Ghana Football Association has opened a disciplinary procedure against the Portuguese coach for allegedly violating Article 12(1)(h) of the federation's disciplinary code.
