Asante Kotoko defeat Karela United 1-0 in Ghana Premier League

Asante Kotoko secured a 1-0 victory against Karela United at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium during Matchday 5 of the Ghana Premier League. Isaac Opoku Agyemang scored the decisive goal within the first four minutes of the match, marking a successful start to the post-Eric Tinkler era for the Porcupine Warriors.

Despite the early deficit, Karela United increased their pressure in the second half, creating several opportunities to equalize. However, they were unable to convert their chances, leaving them in ninth position in the league standings. Karela United head coach Nurudeen Amadu noted that while his side performed well and deserved at least a point, they failed to capitalize on their scoring opportunities.

The win allows Asante Kotoko to move up to third place in the league table, providing much-needed momentum following a recent period of inconsistent form.
