Asante Kotoko intensifies pre-season preparations and defensive rebuild
Asante Kotoko is intensifying its pre-season preparations in Accra as the club prepares for the 2026/27 Ghana Premier League season. Technical director Stanley Menzo stated that the team is committed to meeting the expectations of the club and its supporters, emphasizing a collective effort to fulfill the needs of the fans.
The club's defensive rebuild is also progressing, with centre-back Issah Yakubu featuring in a recent friendly match after successfully completing medical examinations. Yakubu's inclusion in the traveling squad aims to integrate him with other defenders as his permanent move to the Kumasi-based club nears completion.
Under head coach Eric Tinkler, the Porcupine Warriors are focusing on physical conditioning and tactical coordination. The squad will continue preparations for 15 days before returning to Kumasi for the Democracy Cup against rivals Hearts of Oak.
