Asantehene Otumfuo Osei Tutu II begins two-week working visit to the US

The Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, has commenced a two-week working visit to the United States. The trip began on Sunday, August 23, 2026, with a formal farewell at Prempeh I International Airport in Kumasi involving senior traditional leaders, government officials, and members of the Regional Security Council.

During the tour, the King is leading a delegation of Paramount Chiefs and Queen Mothers to engage with the African diaspora and global partners. A primary highlight of the itinerary is a historic Akwasidae Festival celebration hosted at Bowie State University in Maryland.

The visit aims to focus on strengthening international ties, advancing educational development, and promoting economic growth for home communities. The mission also serves to showcase Ghanaian culture through traditional rituals, drumming, and dance.
