Asantehene Otumfuo Osei Tutu II returns to Kumasi from United States
Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, the King of the Asante Kingdom, has returned to Kumasi following a high-level visit to the United States. Upon his arrival, he was welcomed at the airport by the Kumasi Mayor and members of the Kumasi Traditional Council.
In accordance with Asante tradition, the Queen of the Asante Kingdom, Nana Yaa Akyaa II, hosted a formal reception at the Manhyia Palace. During this meeting, the Asantehene briefed his traditional mother on the outcomes of his mission abroad.
During his time in the United States, the Asantehene delivered a lecture at Howard University regarding governance, cultural preservation, and the connections between Ghana and the African Diaspora. His itinerary also included participating in the Akwasidae festival and engaging with the U.S. Chamber of Commerce. His return was marked by large-scale celebrations in the streets of Kumasi, where thousands of residents gathered to welcome the monarch.
