Ascott targets 1,000 properties in global expansion

Ascott, the lodging arm of Singapore-based CapitaLand Investment, is expanding its global footprint with a goal of reaching 1,000 operating and pipeline properties. As of the end of 2025, the company reported over 176,000 units across more than 230 cities and 40 countries.

While originally focused on serviced apartments, the company has diversified into hotels, resorts, extended-stay properties, and social-living brands like lyf. Ascott manages 14 brand families, including Citadines, Oakwood, and Somerset. The company maintains an asset-light model, with 82% of its properties being managed and 14% franchised.

Geographically, the company has a heavy presence in Asia, with approximately 88% of its portfolio located in Southeast Asia, China, Japan, Korea, Australasia, and South Asia. Its U.S. portfolio remains limited to specific locations in New York and Sunnyvale.
