Ascott Limited Asian hotel expansion

Overview

In late July 2026, Ascott Limited highlighted its 30-year presence in Indonesia, unveiling a portfolio of more than 150 hotels across roughly 20 cities. The group’s Indonesian expansion includes ten brands, such as Citadines and Somerset, and follows the 2018 acquisition of Tauzia. Upcoming 2027 openings include the lyf Resort Labuan Bajo and Oakwood Jimbaran Villas.

A week later, the group announced a further push into Vietnam, signing management agreements for nine properties that add over 3,200 units and raise its Vietnam footprint by more than 30%. These deals bring the total to approximately 12,000 units in 42 properties across 14 Vietnamese cities, with openings planned from 2028. This move coincides with a broader Asian rollout in partnership with WorldHotels, which is developing over 40 new hotels in markets such as South Korea and India.

Building on this momentum, Ascott has set a global target to reach 1,000 operating and pipeline properties. As of the end of 2025, the CapitaLand Investment subsidiary reported over 176,000 units across more than 230 cities and 40 countries. While maintaining a heavy presence in Asia—where approximately 88% of its portfolio is located—the company continues to diversify its asset-light model across hotels, resorts, and social-living brands.
