ASDP Indonesia Ferry Director Apologizes for Severe Congestion on Ketapang‑Gilimanuk Route

Severe traffic congestion hit the ferry crossing between Ketapang (Banyuwangi) and Gilimanuk (Jembrana) as heavy rain over the Bali Strait combined with a surge in vehicle flow during school holidays. Queues of trucks stretched up to five kilometres, spilling onto the Denpasar‑Gilimanuk road. Heru Widodo, Director‑General of PT ASDP Indonesia Ferry (Persero), issued a public apology for the prolonged disruption.

ASDP announced that it is working with regulators to deploy additional port facilities and extra vessels to restore normal service on the Ketapang‑Gilimanuk corridor as quickly as possible.
