At the 14th ASEAN Education Ministers Meeting in Singapore, ministers from member states approved the ASEAN Work Plan on Education for 2026‑2030. Indonesia’s Minister of Basic and Secondary Education Abdul Mu’ti said the plan aims to create an inclusive, comprehensive and transformative education system, with priority given to artificial‑intelligence integration, strengthening STEM subjects and developing student character. Singapore’s Education Minister Desmond Lee echoed the three pillars – AI‑enabled learning, enhanced STEM curricula and character building – and hosted a visit to North Vista Primary School to observe AI‑STEM teaching facilities.

Vietnam also took part, with Foreign Minister Le Hoai Trung conducting bilateral talks with the Philippines and Norway on the sidelines and stressing the importance of peace, stability and adherence to international law in the region. Vietnam highlighted ongoing cooperation initiatives such as Mekong‑ROK business forums and water‑resource management, and reaffirmed support for the education work plan’s objectives.
