ASEAN fuel prices show wide variation with Singapore highest and Indonesia lowest

Fuel prices for RON 95 gasoline in the ASEAN region show significant variation as of October 2026. Data from Global Petrol Prices indicates that Singapore has the highest prices in the region, reaching approximately US$ 2.47 (around Rp 44,191) per liter. This is roughly double the cost found in Indonesia.

Indonesia and Vietnam currently offer the most affordable RON 95 fuel in the region. Indonesia's price stands at approximately US$ 1.073 (around Rp 19,190) per liter, closely followed by Vietnam at US$ 1.076 (around Rp 19,243) per liter. These price disparities are driven by differing national energy policies, taxes, subsidies, and market mechanisms. While Singaporean prices follow market dynamics, Indonesia utilizes a system that separates subsidized and non-subsidized fuel.

In Indonesia, PT Pertamina Patra Niaga has maintained stable pricing for both subsidized and non-subsidized fuels for October 2026, matching September levels. Pertamina stated that subsidized fuels, such as Pertalite and Biosolar, are not expected to increase through the end of 2026 to protect consumer purchasing power.
