ASELSAN successfully tests KGK-84 winged guidance kit
ASELSAN has announced the successful completion of the first qualification range test for its KGK-84 Winged Guidance Kit. The test was conducted using an F-16 fighter jet at the Sinop Shooting Range.
The KGK-84 is designed to convert 2,000-pound class free-fall bombs—including the MK-84, MK-84-T, NEB, and NEB-T series—into high-reliability, long-range air-to-ground smart munitions. Featuring an deployable wing system, the kit allows the munitions to glide toward targets rather than falling freely, enabling an “at-forget” capability with a range of up to 100 kilometers.
This extended range allows aircraft to strike targets from safe distances without entering the range of enemy air defense systems. The system is equipped with an integrated inertial navigation system (ANS) and a global positioning system (KKS), providing high precision and accuracy. Additionally, the kit includes a CRPA anti-jam antenna to maintain resistance against GNSS/GPS electronic warfare and jamming. The KGK-84 is capable of operating in all weather conditions, day or night, and is compliant with the MIL-STD-1760 military standard.
