ASELSAN tests GÖKALP autonomous drone defense system

ASELSAN has successfully tested GÖKALP, an autonomous kinetic drone destruction system designed to counter asymmetric aerial threats. The system is engineered to protect critical facilities and military bases by detecting, tracking, and neutralizing unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) through physical impact.

During field tests conducted at the Oğulbey Technology Base, the system demonstrated an integrated workflow: the AURA radar detects a target UAV, the DRONEDEF command and control software processes the flight data, and the GÖKALP E1 interceptor drone is deployed. The interceptor utilizes a hit-to-kill method to destroy the target in mid-air.

The GÖKALP system offers an effective range of over 7 kilometers against Class-2 and Class-3 UAVs. It features a modular and mobile design, allowing it to be integrated onto 4x4 vehicles or used as a towed platform, providing high mobility for tactical operations.
