Jammu & Kashmir LG Manoj Sinha reports over 2,500 drug traffickers arrested in 100‑day anti‑narcotics drive

Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha announced that the 100‑day "Nasha Mukt" campaign in Jammu & Kashmir resulted in the arrest of 2,581 drug traffickers and the seizure of nearly 1,431 kg of narcotics, including 23.29 kg of heroin. Assets worth Rs 188.9 crore were attached, and 20,292 FIRs were lodged. Law‑enforcement agencies dismantled 92 drug networks, identified 4,474 drug hotspots and recommended the suspension or cancellation of 884 driving licences, 687 vehicle registrations, 64 passports and eight arms licences. Sinha described the initiative as a people’s movement and said the crackdown is only the beginning, pledging continued action against narco‑terrorism. He also unveiled a forthcoming "Rehabilitation and Socio‑Economic Reintegration Scheme for Drug Abuse Victims" to be piloted in two sensitive districts of Jammu and Kashmir in 2026, aiming to provide medical care, education, employment and long‑term relapse prevention for affected youths.
