Asian Tour joins PGA and DP World Tour, ending alliance with LIV Golf

Professional golf announced on July 21, 2026 that the Asian Tour has entered a multi‑year partnership with the PGA Tour and the DP World Tour running through 2029. The agreement creates a formal development ladder, giving top Asian Tour players direct access to the DP World Tour and the secondary HotelPlanner Tour from the 2027 season, and reinstates co‑sanctioned events in Asia.

The new three‑tour alliance removes the Asian Tour from the Saudi‑backed LIV Golf ecosystem, a move described as a severe operational blow to LIV, which had relied on the Asian Tour’s International Series for player promotion and world‑ranking points. LIV Golf now faces additional challenges in securing investment and establishing promotion pathways for 2027.

Asian Tour Commissioner Cho Minn Thant said, “We feel the time is right to collaborate with the DP World Tour and PGA Tour to enhance the Asian Tour for our members, fans and partners,” while PGA Tour senior vice‑president Christian Hardy called the partnership a step toward a unified global pathway for talent.
