Asian Tour joins PGA Tour and DP World Tour in multi‑year partnership

The Asian Tour announced a strategic partnership with the PGA Tour and the DP World Tour that will run at least through 2029. Effective immediately, the alliance creates a formal pathway for leading Asian Tour players to earn playing rights on the DP World Tour beginning in the 2027 season, and the DP World Tour will resume co‑sanctioning select events with the Asian Tour from that year. The three tours said the collaboration will broaden commercial opportunities and increase the competitive bandwidth of professional golf in Asia.

The deal marks a decisive shift away from the Asian Tour’s previous relationship with LIV Golf. LIV Golf, which had invested $300 million in the Asian Tour’s International Series, is losing its partner as the new alliance restores the Asian Tour to the traditional tour structure. Commentators noted that the move could weaken LIV Golf’s talent pipeline and financial footing, while providing Asian players clearer routes to the PGA and European circuits. Representatives from all three tours highlighted the partnership as a step toward a more unified global golf ecosystem.

The announcement was welcomed by players and officials, with world‑number‑two Rory McIlroy praising the cooperation, and no official comment from LIV Golf at the time of the release.
