ASP Enna expands free migraine clinic and health‑equity services

The Provincial Health Authority of Enna (ASP) took part in the fourth national Open Day on migraine organised by the Fondazione Onda, offering free neurological consultations at the Umberto I Hospital. The event, which involved more than 140 accredited Italian hospitals, aimed to raise awareness of migraine as a disabling chronic condition that disproportionately affects women.

In June, ASP Enna also presented the first‑year results of the EU‑funded PNES‑TeleNicosia project, a health‑equity programme covering seven southern Italian regions. The initiative provided around 392 free specialist services to roughly 200 vulnerable citizens, including 41 non‑EU residents, across specialties such as ophthalmology, cardiology and dentistry. Participants highlighted short waiting times, easy appointment booking and clear information as strengths of the model, which blends public and social‑private collaboration to improve access to care.
