Throughout 2026, Italy has expanded its preventive health services through regional initiatives, legislative reforms, and community outreach. In Campania, the University of Campania Luigi Vanvitelli is partnering with the Mind Your Cancer Foundation to enhance oncological communication through design and research. Mental health support is also expanding in Calabria, where the ASP of Catanzaro is utilizing local parishes as listening hubs to combat psychological distress and stigma.

Mobile medical units continue to play a vital role. In Sicily, the ASP of Catania is deploying a prevention camper to various municipalities, including a scheduled visit to Villa Belvedere on October 2 to provide mammographies, Pap, HPV, and colorectal cancer screenings. In Calabria, the ASP of Catanzaro is conducting similar drives in Chiaravalle Centrale and Torre di Ruggiero.

Procedural changes are also being implemented, such as in the Trani area, where new booking protocols for colorectal exams for asymptomatic citizens aged 50–69 will take effect on October 1. Other ongoing initiatives include sports-focused wellness in Rome, walking groups in Tuscany and Lecco, and various specialized screenings across Abruzzo, Ancona, and Perugia.
