ASP Trapani greenlights €41 m radiotherapy expansion and EU tender

The extraordinary commissioner of the provincial health authority (ASP) in Trapani has signed a decree approving the executive project for a new radiotherapy service and the expansion of the Sant'Antonio Abate Hospital. The plan, valued at €41.066 million, includes a four‑storey building with two radiotherapy bunkers, a sub‑intensive care unit with 18 beds, an operating block with four theatres (one hybrid), and new surgical wards for general, thoracic, vascular, orthopaedic, trauma and paediatric surgery. The ASP confirmed it has the full financial resources and has therefore launched an open‑procedure European tender for the construction work. The tender follows a ten‑year process that began with a preliminary project approval in July 2016 and was delayed by multiple technical reviews and regulatory updates.
