The ASP of Trapani has recruited 16 external medical specialists to address a backlog of nearly 24,000 pending healthcare services. The specialists were selected through a public notice issued on August 10 and will receive a gross compensation of 80 euros per hour.
The most significant delays are found in diagnostic imaging, which has 7,064 pending services, followed by dermatology (2,839), vascular surgery and angiology (2,689), neurology (2,343), and ophthalmology (2,284).
To address these needs, four specialists have been assigned to ophthalmology, while two each have been allocated to allergology, surgery, oncology, endocrinology, and geriatrics. Single specialists will cover digestive endoscopy, internal medicine, neurology, and radiology. The recruitment process remains open for certain disciplines, including angiology, vascular surgery, dermatology, and dietetics, as candidates have not yet been identified for these roles.
