Assam Police seize 10 crore rupees worth of Yaba tablets
Assam Police seized 50,000 Yaba tablets, valued at approximately 10 crore rupees, during an operation in the Cachar district. The narcotics were discovered hidden within a secret chamber of a truck at an old MVI checkpoint in the Digharkhal area.
Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma commended the Cachar and Assam Police for the successful operation. This seizure is part of an ongoing crackdown on drug trafficking in the region. In August alone, joint operations by the Assam Police and Assam Rifles have resulted in the seizure of roughly 1.1 lakh Yaba tablets and 223 grams of heroin, with a total value exceeding 28 crore rupees. One individual has been arrested in connection with the latest seizure.
