Assault and bike theft in Romania; police car arson in Hungary

In the Romanian town of Marosluțaș, two men detained by local police assaulted a 43‑year‑old man on a bike, struck him in the face and stole his bicycle. The victims called emergency services, and the suspects were placed in pre‑trial detention for 30 days on charges of robbery and assault.

In Gödöllő, Hungary, a man accused of using an accelerant to set fire to a police officer’s vehicle in front of the police headquarters caused the car to burn completely. Firefighters contained the blaze before it spread to surrounding vehicles. The suspect, who has a history of multiple convictions, was arrested on charges of arson and public endangerment.
