Assault over stolen phone in Pontedera and €70,000 garage robbery in Ponte Caffaro, Italy

In Pontedera on 10 June, Carabinieri arrested a 49‑year‑old foreign suspect after a citizen was assaulted for demanding the return of a stolen mobile phone. The assault occurred around 07:30 in an abandoned building on via Brigate Partigiane, after which the victim was taken to the hospital. The suspect was detained, presented to a judge the next morning and ordered to report daily to the police.

Between Friday and Saturday night, a professional gang broke into the Mor Garage in the hamlet of Ponte Caffaro (Bagolino) and stole goods valued at over €70,000, including five high‑end e‑bikes, a new mower and various gardening tools. The thieves disabled the security cameras, removed the network router, and used a stolen crane to pry a window and gain access. Carabinieri from Bagolino are conducting forensic investigations and the incident is covered by the company’s insurance.
