Assetto Corsa Evo to receive open-world update in December 2026

Kunos Simulazioni has announced that Assetto Corsa Evo will receive a major update, version 0.10, on December 9, 2026. This update will introduce a highly anticipated Free Roam mode, allowing players to explore an open world in the Eifel region of Germany, including the area surrounding the Nürburgring Nordschleife.

The new mode will feature a 1:1 scale map covering approximately 1600 km², encompassing rural roads, small towns, and off-road terrain. Players will be able to engage in both single-player and multiplayer experiences with dynamic weather and adjustable time of day. Features include AI-controlled traffic, refueling for combustion engines, and charging for electric vehicles. A notable addition is a walking mode, enabling players to exit their vehicles to explore the environment, which will include NPCs and wildlife such as deer and cows.

Despite the upcoming features, the game's early access period has faced criticism regarding optimization, resulting in a 59 percent positive player rating. However, the title has maintained significant interest, reaching a peak of 25,752 concurrent players on Steam.
