Assetto Corsa EVO development and release outlook

Overview

Digital Bros, the parent company of 505 Games, has issued a financial outlook projecting that Assetto Corsa EVO and Assetto Corsa Rally will transition out of Early Access during the first half of 2027. While these dates have not been officially confirmed by developers Kunos Simulazioni or Supernova Games Studios, the company noted that Assetto Corsa EVO recently reached version 0.9.

Kunos Simulazioni has announced that version 0.10 is scheduled for release on December 9, 2026. This major update will introduce a Free Roam mode featuring a 1:1 scale recreation of Germany’s Eifel region. During the SimRacing Expo in Frankfurt, developers clarified that the initial launch will feature a 70 km² area centered around the Nürburgring, with plans to eventually expand the playable map to approximately 1,600 km².

The update will include the Nordschleife circuit, supporting both single-player and multiplayer experiences with dynamic weather, day and night cycles, and AI-controlled traffic. Technical improvements for v0.10 include the use of LiDAR technology for terrain construction and a complete overhaul of the racing AI. Additionally, the in-game economy will be removed.

New interactive elements include refueling for combustion engines, charging for electric vehicles, and a walking mode that allows players to exit vehicles to explore an environment populated by NPCs and wildlife, such as deer and cows. Despite the upcoming content, the title has faced criticism regarding optimization, resulting in a 59 percent positive player rating on Steam, though it has maintained significant interest with a peak of 25,752 concurrent players.
