Assisi immersive VR cinema festival and Nexo Studios' spiritual film series debut in Italy 2026

The municipality of Assisi, together with Cinema Esperia and ESP, launched an immersive cinema programme at the Rocca Maggiore garden from 8 August to 30 August 2026. Using 360° VR headsets, audiences can experience short films such as “Ayahuasca – Kosmik Journey” and “Home” for a €5 ticket, with limited seats and additional screenings of classic titles later in the evening.

Separately, Nexo Studios announced the “I Misteri della Fede” film series, set to run from 15 October to 21 October 2026. The open‑ended programme explores spirituality and the human‑divine relationship, opening with a documentary on Carlo Acutis – the “first digital saint” – directed by Luca Salmaso and supported by the Fondazione Cariplo and the Amici di Carlo Acutis association.
