Assiut Governor orders investigations into local officials over sanitation failures
Major General Mohamed Alwan, the Governor of Assiut, has ordered immediate investigations into the heads of local units in the villages of Al-Hawatka (Manfalut Center) and Nag' Seba (Assiut Center). The decision followed an unannounced field inspection aimed at monitoring cleanliness standards and service delivery.
In Al-Hawatka, the Governor observed significant waste accumulation and poor sanitation along the Al-Shuhada road. The head of the local unit was referred for investigation due to alleged negligence and failure to supervise regular waste removal. Immediate orders were issued to clear the debris and intensify cleaning campaigns.
In Nag' Seba, officials noted that waste from canal dredging had not been removed and was accumulating along the roadside, obstructing movement and affecting residents. Consequently, the head of the local unit in Nag' Seba was also referred for legal investigation regarding supervision failures. The Governor emphasized that executive agencies must address citizen complaints promptly and ensure services meet local requirements.
