Associação Académica de Coimbra files complaint over RUC radio studio invasion

The Associação Académica de Coimbra (AAC) has filed a complaint with the Ombudsman regarding an unauthorized entry into the Rádio Universidade de Coimbra (RUC) studios by members of the Chega party. The incident, which occurred on October 12, involved deputies Rita Matias and Madalena Cordeiro, along with a group of supporters, resulting in the interruption of radio broadcasts and unauthorized access to management offices.

The AAC has also submitted a criminal complaint to the Coimbra Department of Investigation and Criminal Action (DIAP), citing crimes including unauthorized entry into a restricted area and attacks against the freedom of programming and information.

In response to the incident, the Entidade Reguladora para a Comunicação Social (ERC) has unanimously decided to launch an investigation into the matter. The AAC emphasized that such actions against a historical media institution managed by students cannot be normalized or undervalued.
