Asst Valle Olona appoints new directors at four Lombardy hospitals

The Asst Valle Olona health authority announced a series of leadership changes across its hospitals in the Lombardy towns of Gallarate, Somma Lombardo, Saronno and Busto Arsizio. Following the retirement of the orthopaedics chief, the director of the Gallarate facility, Roberto Gelmi, has been named deputy director of the Complex Structure of the Somma Lombardo district. Dr. Gelmi will be succeeded in Gallarate by Dr. Angelantonio Pascazio, who also assumes interim command of the orthopaedic department in Busto Arsizio until a permanent replacement for Dr. Miguel Simon Bucci is appointed.

Roberta Tagliasacchi has left the directorship of the Saronno hospital, a role she has held since September 2019, and will serve as interim director while a new appointment is sought. The authority said the reshuffle aligns with the needs of the organisation and the territorial health reform, aiming to strengthen clinical and organisational activities.

These changes affect the management of acute and chronic musculoskeletal care, scheduled surgery, emergency trauma services and the development of a fast‑track orthopaedic pathway at the involved facilities.
