Asta Vieraitienė receives Alytus Teacher's Day award

Asta Vieraitienė, a primary school teacher and methodologist at Alytus Dzūkija School, has been awarded the Alytus City Municipality Teacher's Day Prize.

Since beginning her pedagogical career in 2001, Vieraitienė has been recognized for her creative approach to education, specifically her integration of chess into daily lessons. This method is used to help students develop concentration, planning skills, and perseverance. Her students have achieved success in local, national, and international chess tournaments, and her class has earned the title of ‘Playing Class’ in Alytus.

Beyond chess, Vieraitienė is noted for her involvement in school and city initiatives, including environmental and sustainability projects. She is recognized for her commitment to individual student development and for fostering a strong sense of community among students, families, and colleagues.
