Asta Vrečko and Mojca Škrinjar engage in political dispute

Asta Vrečko, co-coordinator of the Levica party, and Mojca Škrinjar, State Secretary at the Ministry of Education, Science and Sport, have engaged in a heated verbal dispute on the social media platform X.

The conflict escalated following Škrinjar’s criticism of the Institute 8. March, which she described as a “mirage” created by corrupt media and funding. Vrečko responded by citing military spending, noting that approximately 30 million euros are allocated for a single tank and nearly 300 million euros for additional weaponry this year.

In subsequent exchanges, Škrinjar questioned whether Vrečko was “lagging behind,” referencing her continued use of the term “Twitter” instead of X. Škrinjar also accused Vrečko of using “communist discourse” and propaganda. Vrečko has criticized Škrinjar for her political background and for allegedly spreading misinformation regarding non-governmental organizations. This follows a history of tensions between the two politicians, including previous disputes regarding the Fotopub incident.
