Aston Martin testing new Vantage RS and Roadster prototypes
Aston Martin is developing a high-performance version of the Vantage, potentially designated as the RS, which will include both a coupé and a Roadster variant. Spy shots of the Roadster prototype have emerged during testing at the Nürburgring and on public roads.
The new model features significant aerodynamic enhancements inspired by endurance racing, including a pronounced front splitter, side flaps, and a large fixed rear wing mounted on the trunk lid to increase downforce. Unlike the standard Vantage, which uses four separate exhaust terminals, the RS prototype utilizes a centralized configuration with four exhaust tips positioned in the middle of the rear bumper. This design choice is intended to optimize the rear diffuser and improve aerodynamic efficiency.
Technical updates are expected to include lightweight components such as carbon-ceramic brakes and high-performance tires. The vehicle is anticipated to compete with models like the Porsche 911 GT3 S/C, with a final version expected to be released by spring 2027.
