Asturias President Adrián Barbón backs cultural revamp and defence‑plant plans for Langreo workshop

Asturias President Adrián Barbón inaugurated the renovated former Duro Felguera workshop in La Felguera, Langreo, now renamed Talleres del Conde. The restoration cost €7.8 million, financed 75 % by the Just Transition Fund and 25 % by the regional government, and the centre is set to open to the public in July with cultural, leisure and economic activities.

During the same visit, Barbón urged his economic team to accelerate negotiations with Indra and Duro Felguera to secure a planned second military‑vehicle factory at the Barros site in Langreo. He warned that the project is stalled over price disagreements and stressed that the region will use all legal tools to keep the investment in Asturias, noting that an alternative location in Galicia is being considered but should not replace the Langreo project.
