Asunción municipal election candidates focus on security and vote monitoring

As the municipal elections in Asunción approach on October 4, candidates for the Municipal Council and the Intendency are intensifying their campaigns. Key political platforms are focusing on urban security, municipal management, and the modernization of the Municipal Transit Police (PMT) through technology.

Marcelo Centurión, representing the Colorado Party (ANR), aims to expand the party's current majority in the council. Meanwhile, Ariel Andino, running for the Liberal Radical Authentic Party (PLRA), seeks to increase opposition presence to improve institutional functionality.

In preparation for the vote, mayoral candidate Sole Núñez announced that her alliance has organized over 5,000 electoral agents. She stated the goal is to achieve 100% coverage of polling stations to ensure democratic integrity and prevent fraud during the upcoming elections.
