ASUS and HYDRA release new GPU software updates

ASUS has released an update for its GPU Tweak III software (v2.1.8.0) aimed at enhancing safety for graphics cards using the 12V-2x6 connector. Utilizing Power Detector+ technology, the software monitors electrical current in real-time across the connector and individual pins. If unsafe current levels are detected, the software can automatically shut down the PC to prevent electrical damage or hardware failure.

Separately, the HYDRA 2.3 overclocking tool has introduced support for NVIDIA Blackwell GPUs with GDDR7 memory. The tool allows users to overclock memory speeds up to 36 Gbps and increase power limits by up to 25%. For the RTX 5090, this can theoretically increase bandwidth to 2,304 TB/s, though it may also raise power consumption to approximately 640 W.
