Asus Ascent QN10 mini PC targets AI workloads with Qualcomm chip
The Asus Ascent QN10 is a mini PC designed specifically as an agentic AI tool. Powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon X2 Elite chip, the system features 18 third-generation Qualcomm Oryon CPU cores and a Qualcomm Hexagon NPU rated at 80 trillion operations per second (TOPS).
While Asus claims the Ascent QN10 possesses the fastest NPU in a mini PC—surpassing the 55 TOPS from AMD and 50 TOPS from Intel—the device faces stiff competition. For general desktop use or AI development, alternatives such as the Asus NUC 16 Pro Mini for Windows users or the Apple Mac mini (2026, M6) for macOS users are recommended. Additionally, while the Ascent QN10 has a high NPU rating, competitors like the AMD Ryzen AI Max+ Pro 495 offer significant total AI performance when combining NPU and graphics processor capabilities.
