ASUS and Lenovo expand AI hardware and infrastructure

Overview

ASUS and Lenovo have expanded their hardware offerings to support agentic AI and local large language model (LLM) processing. Initially, ASUS focused on software and service integration by launching Zenni Claw, a free beta agentic AI assistant, and a Google AI subscription bundle for select laptops.

At IFA 2026, ASUS unveiled a new lineup of AI-focused ProArt computers, including the P14 and P16 laptops and the GR1X Mini PC. The ProArt P16 is noted as one of the thinnest 16-inch laptops in its class at 12.9 mm. These devices utilize the NVIDIA RTX Spark platform, an ARM-based architecture integrating an NVIDIA Grace CPU with Blackwell RTX graphics via NVLink-C2C technology. High-end configurations provide up to 128GB of unified memory and 1 Petaflop of performance, enabling the local execution of LLMs with up to 120 billion parameters. To support this, ASUS is introducing the MuseTree and StoryCube software ecosystem. Lenovo also debuted RTX Spark-powered Yoga Pro 9n, Yoga 9n 2-in-1 laptops, and the ThinkCentre X Ultra desktop.

Expanding beyond consumer hardware, ASUS announced its integrated AI-Factory platform at the ASUS AI Tech 2026 conference in Seoul. This infrastructure spans data centers, workstations, and edge computing. A key component is the AI POD XA VR721-E3, which utilizes NVIDIA Vera Rubin NVL72 architecture and reportedly offers ten times the performance per watt compared to previous generations. The platform includes various solutions like the XA NR1I-E12LR/L and the PE3000N for edge computing, supported by partnerships with NVIDIA, AMD, Intel, and several other industry leaders.
