Googlebook laptops from ASUS and Lenovo leak ahead of September 21 pre-orders

Google is preparing to launch its new premium laptop category, known as “Googlebook,” with pre-orders expected to begin on September 21. This new platform aims to bridge the gap between ChromeOS and Android, integrating deep Gemini AI capabilities and seamless Android smartphone connectivity.

Leaked renders and technical details have surfaced for several upcoming models from launch partners, including ASUS, Lenovo, Dell, Acer, and HP. The ASUS model features a dark gray chassis, a large touchpad, and a signature “Glowbar” LED strip on the lid. It also includes a dedicated Google “G” key for quick service access.

The Lenovo Googlebook 15 is expected to be a lightweight 15.3-inch ultraportable, weighing approximately 1.29 kg. Dell is also reportedly working on a high-end 13-inch model under its XPS brand. These devices are designed to offer high-performance hardware, such as active cooling systems and OLED displays, to support AI-driven features like Magic Pointer and Cast My Apps.
