In late July, Lenovo disclosed that it is preparing at least three devices for Google's new Googlebook platform—a pair of laptops, a detachable 2‑in‑1 tablet and a lightweight AI‑enabled mouse. Both devices were positioned as higher‑performance alternatives to typical Chromebooks, emphasizing deeper AI integration.

Recent leaks have provided further technical details, identifying the platform as an integration of Android, ChromeOS, and Gemini AI. The Asus CX9406 (code-named Lapis) is reported to feature Intel Core Ultra processors and an ultra-ceramic light alloy chassis weighing under one kilogram. Additionally, leaks have linked Dell to the project via a potential XPS 13 model utilizing Qualcomm Snapdragon X Elite processors and running development builds of Android 17.

Newer reports clarify the Lenovo lineup includes a 2-in-1 tablet with Dolby Atmos and stylus support, alongside a 59-gram AI mouse featuring a dedicated key for the platform's "Magic Pointer" tool. The operating system, previously called "Aluminium OS," is being described as an "intelligence system" designed for Gemini, aiming to unify the Android app ecosystem and Chrome browser features. The ecosystem aims to differentiate itself from traditional Chromebooks through high-performance hardware and deep integration between mobile and desktop environments, with official debuts anticipated in the fall of 2026.
