ASUS launches ROG Rapture GT-BN98, the first Wi-Fi 8 router

ASUS Republic of Gamers (ROG) has announced the release of the ROG Rapture GT-BN98, the world’s first Wi-Fi 8 router. The device is designed to address the connectivity demands of modern households filled with gaming consoles, streaming devices, and Internet of Things (IoT) appliances.

Unlike previous Wi-Fi generations that focused primarily on peak speeds, Wi-Fi 8 prioritizes Ultra-High Reliability (UHR). This technology aims to provide consistent, stable connections and reduce latency, even in multi-device environments or at longer ranges. The router features quad-band technology and can deliver up to 25,000Mbps of bandwidth.

Key features include Adaptive Quality of Experience (QoE), which dynamically allocates bandwidth in real time based on application demands, and enhanced network visibility. The router is backward compatible with existing Wi-Fi 6 and Wi-Fi 7 hardware, ensuring it can integrate into existing mesh systems and networks.
