ASUS leaked Googlebook notebook features 14-inch touchscreen

Leaked renders and technical details suggest ASUS is developing its first “Googlebook” notebook, a premium device reportedly codenamed “Lapis” and identified by model number CX9406. The laptop is expected to launch in autumn 2026.

The device is characterized by a lightweight design weighing under 1 kg, utilizing an ultra-ceramic lightweight alloy. It is expected to feature a 14-inch touchscreen with a 16:10 aspect ratio. Hardware specifications may include Intel Core Ultra 5 325 or Core Ultra 7 335 processors, with memory options of 32GB or 64GB LPDDR5X. Connectivity features reportedly include Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth, USB-C, USB-A, HDMI, and a 3.5mm audio jack.

Unlike standard Chromebooks often aimed at the education sector, this Googlebook concept appears to target the high-end market by combining flagship-style hardware with the ChromeOS platform. The keyboard is expected to include a fingerprint sensor and specific keys such as a “G launcher” key.
