Asus releases ROG Rapture GT-BN98 Wi-Fi 8 router

Asus has launched the ROG Rapture GT-BN98, identified as a Wi-Fi 8 (802.11bn draft) router. While the Wi-Fi 8 standard is not expected to be officially ratified until late 2028, this device aims to address connectivity challenges in crowded environments.

Unlike previous generational shifts that focused primarily on raw speed, Wi-Fi 8 is designed to provide more reliable signals and robust uploading capabilities for both new and legacy devices over greater distances. The GT-BN98 features a quad-core CPU with an NPU and supports speeds up to 24.43 Mbps across 2.4 GHz, 5 GHz, and 6 GHz frequencies. Connectivity options include a 10 Gbps WAN/LAN port and multiple 2.5 Gbps ports.
