Asus Wi-Fi 8 hardware launches

Overview

Asus has introduced new networking hardware utilizing the Wi-Fi 8 (802.11bn draft) standard. The company released the ROG Rapture GT-BN98 router, which features a quad-core CPU with an NPU and supports speeds up to 24.43 Mbps across 2.4 GHz, 5 GHz, and 6 GHz frequencies.

Following this, Asus began international distribution of the ZenWiFi BN12, described as the world’s first Wi-Fi 8 mesh system. This system is designed to prioritize connection reliability and stability over raw speed, aiming to reduce performance fluctuations caused by distance or interference while improving communication with low-power smart devices. A two-unit configuration of the ZenWiFi BN12 can theoretically cover up to 650 square meters with an aggregate wireless speed of approximately 19 Gbps.
