ASUS unveils first Wi-Fi 8 routers

ASUS has announced its first lineup of Wi-Fi 8 networking products, including the ROG Rapture GT-BN98 gaming router and the ZenWiFi BN12 mesh system. Unlike previous generations that focused primarily on peak speeds, the development of Wi-Fi 8 emphasizes connection stability, reduced latency, and improved performance in congested environments.

The flagship ROG Rapture GT-BN98 is a quad-band gaming router capable of reaching transmission speeds up to 25,000Mbps. It features dual 10G and four 2.5G Ethernet ports, alongside AI-driven optimization technologies like AI Game Boost and Adaptive QoE to manage bandwidth dynamically. For home coverage, the ZenWiFi BN12 mesh system offers speeds up to 19,000Mbps and can cover approximately 650 square meters in a multi-node configuration.

While these routers offer advanced features such as 4G/5G mobile backup and enhanced security protocols, full Wi-Fi 8 functionality requires compatible client hardware, such as updated smartphones and computers. ASUS has not yet released specific pricing or official launch dates for these products.
