Aswan Governor orders investigation into water leakage in residential and school areas
The Governor of Aswan, Amr Lashin, has ordered urgent investigations into water leakage issues affecting residential areas and public infrastructure in the governorate.
In Nag El-Sayeh, located in the Basilia district of Edfu, water leakage has caused structural cracks in several homes. A specialized technical committee, including consultants from Aswan University and representatives from the Engineers Syndicate and the drinking water and sanitation company, has been formed to identify the source. Authorities are conducting a comprehensive survey of damaged properties to provide support to affected residents.
Additionally, the Governor inspected Banban North Primary School in the Daraw district to address rising water levels within the facility. To ensure the school is ready for the 2026/2027 academic year, officials are analyzing water samples to determine if the source is groundwater or sewage network issues. The Governor also ordered a safety inspection of the school’s electrical connections to prevent hazards for students and staff.
