Aswan prepares for Abu Simbel solar alignment event

Aswan Governor Amr Lashin has ordered maximum readiness and full coordination among relevant authorities to prepare the tourist city of Abu Simbel for the upcoming solar phenomenon. On October 22, the sun will align with the face of King Ramesses II, an event recognized as a unique global tourist attraction.

Preparations include upgrading the 2.5 km road from the airport to the temple, enhancing public cleanliness, lighting, and beautification. To celebrate the event, the governorate is coordinating with the Ministry of Culture to organize folk art and cultural performances that showcase Egyptian heritage.

Additionally, local authorities are conducting inspections of hotels, restaurants, and markets to ensure food safety and service quality for the thousands of domestic and international visitors expected to attend.
