Atakum Municipality unpaid wage issue raised in Samsun Council

The unpaid salary issue of Atakum Municipality employees, who have reportedly not received wages for 4.5 months, was addressed during the first session of the Samsun Metropolitan Municipality (SBB) Council in September.

MHP Group Deputy Chairman Ali Sukas raised the issue, requesting support from the Metropolitan Municipality for the workers. He called on Mayor Halit Doğan to listen to the grievances of the employees. Council Deputy Chairman Nihat Soğuk described the request as “humanitarian” and stated that the matter would be conveyed to SBB officials.

Independent council member Atilla Tekcan noted that Atakum Municipality applied to İller Bankası A.Ş. for a letter of guarantee approximately one month ago to secure a loan. Tekcan indicated that the salary debts to workers would be paid once the letter of guarantee is received.
