Çatalağzı Beach Clean-up Draws Broad Local Participation

During Turkey's Environment Week in June 2026, a large‑scale cleaning operation was carried out on Ömerağzı Beach in the Çatalağzı district of Zonguldak Province. The initiative was jointly organized by the Çatalağzı Social Assistance and Solidarity Association and the Çatalağzı Municipality, with Mayor Yavuz Palabaş and Association President Nevzat Ay overseeing the effort.

The event attracted extensive local involvement, including municipal officials, village heads, business owners, and ordinary citizens. After the clean‑up, Nevzat Ay thanked participants, saying, "We organized the beach‑cleaning project again as part of Environment Week, and we appreciate the support of the mayor, his aides, muhtars, staff, merchants, and the community for helping us keep the shore clean."
